United Yorkie Rescue was founded on August 5, 2002 with the goal to rescue as many Yorkies and Yorkie mixes as possible. This group of loyal and hard-working rescue friends have consolidated their "efforts and talents to form a family dedicated to the rescue and well-being of the Yorkshire Terrier." UYR is also dedicated to finding each Yorkie a forever home, after providing foster care, behavior screening, rehabilitation, and health care.

Mazey's mommy says,"Mazey is a real mama's girl and loves to go in her carrier bag whenever I go out. She is the alpha dog around here even though she is the smallest. She keeps all the other yorkies in their place. She likes to play fetch, especially with her big long loofah dog. I have to get a picture of her one of these times. She looks so funny carrying it. She's two years old and lives south of Houston, TX."
