Pyrethroids: Most common use in spot-on flea and tick products

Natural pyrethrods include Pyrethin, Allethrin, and Resmethrin. These are made from pyrethrum, the olesoresin extract of dried chrysanthemum flowers

It is non-toxic; so, while it does not kill insects,it repels them from causing irritation in the first place. It also has very strong anti-fungal properties.
We are not advocating that you cease your regular flea and tick treatment program. We have chosen to do so with our dogs and have instead gone to more natural flea and tick preventation. This is a personal decision that only should be made after doing extensive research and weighing the environmental factors where you live and the exposure of your dog.
