Shipping Policies

 

We are an online boutique and do not have a retail store.  We do not carry a large inventory due to keep our overhead low and keep our prices reasonable nor do we have a warehousing facility to house a large stock inventory.  Typical order processing time is three business days (if we have the products in stock or avail ourselves of the drop shipping options provided by many of our vendors) up to fifteen business days due to many of our product offering being made to order.  We generally order from our vendors once or twice weekly depending on our order volume.  In some cases, your order may arrive in two shipments if some products are drop shipped from our vendors.

 

For clothing and small items, we ship First Class Mail with delivery confirmation.  We offer no guarantee of USPS delivery as the USPS does not offer a guarantee.  If you wish to have your items shipping USPS Priority Express Mail, you must contact us for payment of the additional shipping fees involved and our guarantee is the guarantee offered by the USPS and Bloomingtails Dog Boutique has no responsibility other than getting the package to the USPS and entered into their system. 

 

 Once your package reaches its destination, Bloomingtails Dog Boutique has no additional responsibility.  The package cannot be tracked or located from our end and must be initiated from the final destination not the originating destination.

 

In most cases, if you have provided us with an email address, you will receive shipping and tracking information via the USPS once your shipment enters their system via an email notification.  You can check the status of your order via our Track Order Option on the top navigation menu on our website with your email address and order number.

 

The shipping and handling charges below are for clothing items/small items only.  If you order heavier products, such as shampoos and conditioners, beds, tents,etc. there will be an additional shipping charges based on the actual shipping charges charged by the USPS.  We will contact you if the shipping charges are over the shipping charges below.

Oversized Items - Our shipping cart is set up for number of  items ordered.  For Oversized Items, we only charge the actual cost of shipping the items purchased to you.  As we have a wide selection of products, we cannot estimate all of the product combinations possible. 

 

Any item that is considered oversized will incur an additional shipping surcharge fee (per item) in addition to our standard flat rate shipping fee.  The oversized shipping fee is stated in each product description if applicable.   This fee covers the added cost of the freight fee that is charged to us for the large/heavy item being shipped by the carrier.  This includes items such as beds, furniture, pet strollers, car seats, pet stairs, bicycle baskets, etc.

If you order only oversized items, you will receive credit for the standard shipping charges added to your shopping cart.  If you order a combination of other products in addition to oversized items, in most cases we will ship all items together to save on shipping cost. You will be invoiced for the additional shipping charges prior to the shipping of your order.

Our shopping cart is set up for USA First Class Mail.  Typically, those fees cover First Class shipping to Canada.

 

Flat rate shipping of USPS small priority rate box is generally $10-$11 with estimated shipping time 6-10 days, provided it does not exceed 15 ounces.  We have gotten up to 3 items of dog clothing in this box as long as they are not bulky. 

 

We are aware of the terms of NAFTA and if your products ordered are made in the USA, we will fill out the requisite forms for you.  Feel free to contact us and we can tell you if the products are made in the USA. 

 

For larger packages or bulkier packages, we can estimate shipping costs prior to your purchasing.  We have found that first class postage from New York to Canada is reasonable and estimated shipping time "varies" according to the USPS.

For custom made dog clothing items, we ship First Class Mail as we have found Air Mail to be cost prohibitive.    For other countries, please contact us before ordering so that we can get an estimate for you of what the actual shipping charges will be.

 

 Shipping charges are added to the shopping cart based on USA rates and for international orders, additional shipping charges are applicable. Since it would be impossible for us to estimate these charges as they are based on shipping weight and destination,  please contact us before ordering so that we can get an estimate for you of the additional shipping charges from the manufacturer.
